Your
golf swing didn't come off an assembly line
Neither should your equipment!!!
Brand name golf club companies, Sporting equipment stores, Pro Shops, etc. tell us about golf their club fitting systems…
"Demo day fitting", "Launch monitor fitting", "Sample club fitting ", "Internet fitting", ”Portable bin fitting”, "Factory fitting", “ Computer fitting”, etc. etc.
The common elements in all of these systems are that they are simple enough for a store clerk to operate, they arrive at a recommendation in ½ an hour or less, and they are restricted to options easily accommodated in a high speed assembly line.
Is this real Custom fitting..We don’t think so..There is a better way…
Real custom fitting requires specialized equipment to gather information on your personal game, plus extensive training and experience in order to asses this information and then condense it into recommendations that can lead you to your playing goals. Club components with specifications suitable to your personal swing and playing style need to be selected. Then, your components need to be precisely assembled into a matched club set that allows you to maintain essentially the same swing throughout the set, yet give predictably different distance and trajectory results because of the way each club is designed and built.
A true Custom Fitting will consist of at least this:
1.- A detailed interview to learn how you play and the areas of your game you want most to improve.
2.- A complete measurement and analysis of your current golf clubs playing specifications.
3.- Swing tests and observations to determine your driver and five iron swing speeds, tempo, plane, approach line, attack angle, and wrist release.
4.- Measurements to determine your ideal club lengths, loft angles, face angles, lie angles, and grip sizes.
5.- Take away, written recommendations and explanations for new club designs, specifications, and preferred set makeup along with several suitable style and price point options. Or, if practical, recommendations for retro-fit of your existing clubs.
